A day before the start of the AFSCME 44th International Convention, the AFSCME Retiree Council held its 40th Annual Meeting.
Delegates, who met virtually, heard from AFSCME President Lee Saunders, Secretary-Treasurer Elissa McBride, AFSCME Retirees Director Ann Widger and other union leaders.
They received briefings on the 2020 political landscape, the AFSCME political program and on the status of the Fund the Front Lines campaign.
An election for the officers was also held. Retiree Council officers Jeff Birttnen, chair; Sonia Mosley, vice chair; and Sue Conard, secretary; were reelected by acclamation.
