AFSCME members serve their communities with dedication every day with little fanfare. They deserve a president who will treat them with respect and fight for them.
Delegates to the AFSCME 44th International Convention heard from several members who explained why they are voting for former Vice President Joe Biden over President Donald Trump this year.
They said Biden – who won AFSCME’s endorsement in March – is the right choice because he has stood with working people throughout his career and will champion working people’s rights and interests if elected president.
Trump, on the other hand, has looked out for himself and his corporate buddies, rigged the economy to further benefit his wealthy allies and has poorly managed the coronavirus pandemic, they said. Trump’s mismanagement of the pandemic has allowed COVID-19 to spread nationwide, kill more than 100,000 people and wreck our economy.
They pledged to work hard to elect Biden this fall and urged their fellow AFSCME members to do the same.
